Movie Projector

Movie Camera - Movie Projector

A movie projector is just a movie camera, with a light
inside.

The light shines through a positive film print,
and is focused by the lens onto a screen.

A spinning metal shutter blocks light during the "pull-down,"
during which each film frame is replaced by a subsequent one.

Another lamp and lens illuminates an optical soundtrack,
a stripe-like image on the film, next to the picture frames.

Photosensitive circuitry detects and amplifies the sound,
which plays through loudspeakers, both behind the screen,
and on the walls of the theatre auditorium.
